What Causes Plugged Ear And Nose, Headache And Sore Throat?

I can hardly swallow, headache, stuffy nose
And my ears are plugged & sore. I have been on penicillin
For 8 days & my throat is just as sore. This has been going on for a month.
The cough has mostly resolved.
What do u think it is and should I go back to the doctor?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have plugged ear and nose, headache and sore throat, well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons but it seems to me that these symptoms probably occur due to sinusitis, Eustachian tube dysfunction and post nasal drip . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles severeal times a day. You should take steam twice a day. Take paracetamol for fever and headache. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache.
