What Causes Pins And Needles In Arms, Hands And Feet After Quitting Smoking?
I quit smoking cold turkey after being a heavy smoker and for the past three days ive had a pins and needles sensation in my arms hands and feet...could this be from the lack of nicotine? I smoked one cig in a matter of about a week and a half that ive stopped...26 years old in good health
I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. I appreciate your efforts to quit smoking and would advice you to continue the same.
Yes your symptoms are suggestive of nicotine withdrawl which occurs as nicotine levels falls in blood after stopping smoking. Your body habituated to all the nicotine that was coming in. Fortunately nicotine withdrawl is a temporary thing and can be managed by waiting and watching and having a strong will to quit.
If your problems are causing too much distress consult a physician who would help you with a plan to quit smoking. It may involve nicotine gums or patches to temporarily supplement the nicotine and gradually withdrawing it in a sequenced pattern.
