What Causes Pimples On The Face And Neck?
I get a large pimple like thing appear on my face or neck once and a while( just one), almost turns purple. Very sore and tender and get the size of a small marble in some cases. It stays around for about 2-4 weeks and dissapears . sometimes it sticks around for longer. I ve been told it may be a boil but I don t know. Please help

It seems that probably you may be having acne conglobeta. It is a form of acne. The lesion is large,ball like (conglobet) and inflammatory. The lesion might remain for few weeks to few months. It might take long time to resolve. Sometime, it may be infected with bacteria...staphylococci. Frank pus msy be there. There may be some factors like stress,anxiety,poor immunity,poor hygiene,genetic tendency..etc. Antibiotic like minocycline or azithromycine may be taken fore long time in proper dose. Sometime dapsone might give good result. Antiinflammatory drugs may be taken till pain or tenderness is relieved. Avoid stress and worries. Cleanse the face with antiseptic like cetaphil lotion. You might be benefitted after few months treatment.. I hope you yot my answer.
