What Causes Pimples On Chest, back And Shoulders?

what are common signs that my acne may be going away, im 18 almost 19 and the acne on my face has significantly reduced since i was 14. I had real bad facial breakouts when i was 14-17 and then it died down a lot and now i have a few pimples but i can see my facial skin is clearing up and for the most part i jst have a few scars or red marks but thats it. On the other hand, the acne on my chest, back and shoulders seem to be getting worse, i didnt have it until i was about 15 and it cleared up once for like a few months when i was 17. Now its back again and it is really bothering me a lot because it is everywhere. What should i expect from this?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

Acne can affect face as well as chest, likewise.
I suggest you to use topical antiacne antibacterials e.g benzoyl peroxide gel, twice daily for acne on torso.
I also suggest Oral antibiotics e.g doxycycline or minocycline, if your acne is inflammatory in nature i.e red, painful and pustular.
Acne on back can recur therefore using a benzoyl peroxide body wash regularly would help prevent a recurrence/ break out.

Regards
