What Causes Pimple Like Rash On Buttocks Spreading To Legs?

My oldest son, 6 yrs, got a pimple like rash on his butt. A week later my 4 year old got it. Now both of them have a couple pimples on their legs, but my 4 year now has a cough and almost lost his voice. Is this a viral infection? So far, no fever, but he is getting diaherrea.

Hi,

The rash you described may be vesiculopapular and occurs descretly. Your both sons are having such rash on buttocks and legs. I think, probably it may be hand foot and mouth disease. And it is a viral disease. There may or may not be fever. I strongly recommond that you consult dermatologist or paediatrician. However, it is a selflimiting condition.

Antiviral like acyclovir, which is used for herpes zoster and varicella may be given by their doctor. Application of antibiotic cream may be suggested.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
