What Causes Persistent Swelling In The Lower Eyelid?

Hi - i had transconjuctival blepharoplasty 6 months ago, my left eye has lost the eye lashes on the bottom lid and i have persistant swelling in the lower eyelid, i have been advised this is MGD - i use warm compressess, baby shampoo, multivits, flaxseed oil, optive and use maxitrol 4 times a day. None of this makes any difference and my eyelashes grow back misdirected into the eye. I am out of options and do not not what to do next - the swelling is generalised but visually quite obvious and causes discomfort - any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I reviewed your history. Persistent swelling is because of meibomian gland disease. The treatment you are on is in right direction and you need to continue it as advised by your doctor.
Along with this oral tetracycline can be used in severe cases. Do consult your doctor for prescription of drugs.
Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
