What Causes Persistent Stabbing Pain In The Breastbone?
Hi Doc, This is the 4th day now with my chest (breastbone) hurting (stabbing pain) It didnt hurt when i breathe but now it does.. i havent been coughing. it hurts when i move the most but it also hurts when i am sitting or laying down. I work 2 retail jobs and do alot of heavy lifting, pushing and pulling. It has gotten worse and today i just cant take the pain anymore. Whats going on? I plan on going to urgent care after work.

you may be having costochondritis that is inflammation of the joints of ribs to the breast bone.
please do visit your doctor he/she will rule out any other issues and if it's just a costochondritis a simple pain reliever will suffice
