What Causes Persistent Stabbing Pain In Rib Cage Area?
I am having pain on my right side. It started out as a stabbing pain two days ago. Now it has spread to my whole rib cage area. I did not injure it. I took ibuprophen yesterday and this morning. Do you think I should see a doctor? I have never had anything like this before. I am healthy and fit. Please advise.
noted history of stabbing pain in the rib cage area. what is your age? do you have any other associated signs and symptoms like bloatedness, nausea, vomiting, fever? what are the aggravating (such as fatty food intake) or alleviating factors (belching, burping)? things that may be considered are the following: muscular strain, costochondritis, pleural/pulmonary or a gallbladder pathology. it is best if you consult with a doctor for physical examination and clinical evaluation. diagnostics (such as chest xray, ultrasound) and management (medical and/or surgical if indications are found) will be directed accordingly.
hope this helps.
good day!!
