What Causes Persistent Rash In The Crooks Of Both Arms?

My 5 year old has a persistent rash in the crooks of both arms. Bright red, bumpy, periodically itchy. The skin in the area appears stretched and shiny. We recently moved from CA to AZ, the change in temperature and humidity has not affected the rash at all. Her dad has issues with eczema, so this would be my first guess. But he is also sensitive to hydrocortisone, which leaves me wondering how to best treat her as I m afraid she will have the same sensitivity.

Welcome to HCM
According to your description abt the rashes it seems to be mild fungal infection.
It is very common in children.and more overit usually occurs in areas of the body where sweat accumulates.

You can use CLOTRIMAZOLE POWDER in the armpit and other itchy areas for a months duration

Syp.Atarax(5ml=10mg) 5ml-0-5ml for 3days, which will help her subside itching.

Soapex soap can be used regularly for bathing

Hydrocortisone is one of the best drug, but we will wait and not use now.

She will be fine soon.
