What Causes Persistent Pressure On The Head With Mild Headache?

I am 66 and female. almost two weeks ago I began having scalp tightening and pressure on the top of my head as though someone were putting an open palm on my head and squeezing. I also experience a mild headache across my brow line toward the end of the day. No fever or other symptoms,

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

What you describe is typical for what is called tension type headache. It is the most common type of primary headache. It is called a primary headache as it doesn't have any identifiable cause, all tests come back normal. It is commonly exacerbated by stress and anxiety.
As it is a primary headache there is no risk involved. Management includes preventive measures like relaxation exercises, moderate physical activity. The symptoms are usually relieved by over the counter pain killers like Ibuprofen. Rarely only if very frequent is preventive treatment with amitriptyline used.
