What Causes Persistent Nausea And Pain In Stomach?

I m taking 2x co-codamol 30/500mg 4times a day for pain after a partial knee replacement and no been given flucloxacillin 500mg for an infection, I have started getting pains in my stomach and feeling nauseous all the time. Is this normal with this combination of medicines .

Tab.co-codomol contains codeine. It belongs to opium group of drugs and hence can produce severe nausea.It also causes constipation which can lead to abdominal discomfort . Flucloxacillin is antibiotic and it can cause stomach discomfort by destroying normal bacterial floro of gut. Hence the side effects you have mentioned are normal with this combination of medicines
