Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m at 32 year old male with a pea sized lump at front right side of my tongue. It s been there for several years without any problems. Now it has turned dark and begin to crater, I have a biopsy scheduled for tomorrow but can anyone help me out in the mean time please
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain a small dark painless lump on the side of tongue can be due to a few causes like a Mucocele or a Hemangioma or a Hematoma.. As it is prsent since two yeays and have not started to crater there is a possibility that it has started to become an ulcer and some chances can be that it can be a malignant lump.. As you are scheduled for a biopsy a clinical evaluation and co-relation with the biopsy report can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. In case if it is a mucocele or hematoma surgical removal can be done.. In case if it is Hemangioma sclerosing agents can be used.. While in case of malignant ulcer treatment will depend upon the stage and severity of the lesion..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
