Hi,

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of coughing along with sinus drainage and post nasal drip can occur due to causes like:

- Chronic Upper Respiratory Tract infection
- Bronchitis
- Lung infection
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

For confirmation you need a proper clinical evaluation and investigations. Consult a Pulmonologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture, sputum culture , chest x ray and blood test can help in diagnosis.

You can be advised antibiotics like Augmentin, a combination of Ibuprofen and Tylenol, anti allergics like Levocetrizine, decongestants like Phenylephrine, Mucolytics like Bromohexine. Cough suppressant like Dextromethorphan and cough expectorants like Gueifenesin can help. Warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can help.

You can also chew Vitamin C pellet as it will help in improving immunity. Take a soft diet with ample of fluids. Avoid spicy and chilled foods. Take sufficient rest.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks and regards,
Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
