What Causes Persistent Chronic Pain In The Arm?

I am a home care giver to a gentleman that that has severe pain in his right arm continually, he says it is from the nerve damage from when he had shingles 5 years ago, Is there a cure or anything that can done for him other than all the pain medication he is on?

@ There are various causes for chronic arm pain
- neurological due to nerve compression - vascular due to
compromised blood supply - muscular stretch , sprain - ligament
insult - old viral infections with chronic nerve ending irritations -
bony pains in relation with osteoporosis - lack of magnesium or
other trace elements - others .
