General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi i do care for your concern.
The swelling in feet and ankle are caused due to prolonged standing and sitting postures.
The venous return decrease during standing and hence swelling occurs.
If i were your treating doctor then i would advise to,
Changing the position of legs frequently, with mild exercise and short walks.
during night limb elevation with two pillows at feet could help.
You have not mentioned your age, and wearing elastic band specifically designed for this purpose will help a lot.
Hope i have answered your question. If you have more doubt feel free to ask.
Thank you.
I find this answer helpful
