What Causes Penile Bleeding During Urination?

My boyfriend had one episode of bright red blood from his penis when he went to urinate. It has not happened since and UTI was ruled out. Had a CT myelogram today. Just curious of some potential causes...he has had no other symptoms such as abdominal pain, etc.

Appearance of blood in the urine could be due to following causes:
• Urinary tract infection due to mucosal injury in the urethra.
• Presence of stones in the kidney, which generally causes bleeding due to mucosal injury in ureters.
• Bleeding due to carcinoma of urinary bladder.

Since there are no associated symptoms and CT scan has been performed, the cause for it can be clearly determined.

Kindly consult a urologist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
