What Causes Pelvic Pain, Stomach Hardening With Loose Bowels Before Childbirth?
Hi im 37 weeks now been having all this pain for almost 3 weeks and its increasing recently on my pelvic pain is horrible, hard stomach, constipation went to doctor bec today i woke up with severe stomache pain ans loose bowels but checked me and still not dilated what i have to do and why im having loose bowel is it sign of labor? Thanks
Hi, Prostaglandin release at the onset of prelabor and early labor leads to bowel irritability, pain in the pelvis and contraction. Loose stools can be due either to the intestinal hurry or an infection. Please exclude infection if you are not yet into labor. Also, bowel irritability can cause alternating constipation and diarrhea. This can be controlled by avoiding foods that raise the bowel movement and avoiding constipation. Freedom from stress is another factor that often helps. Please have adequate liquids, soft easily digestible diet and sufficient rest. Wish you good health.
