What Causes Pelvic Pain And Nausea Post Menstruation?

My girlfriend is on her period at the moment. She only uses pads. However, there was a period where the pad was slightly inside her vagina (about 40 minutes). The pad had also been on her for roughly one full day before this. She is now worried now that during this time she got toxic shock syndrome. She said that this morning she had been feeling nauseated and had a stomach ache. This stopped for several hours until around 12:30pm when it started again. She has general anxiety disorder and there have been other times when she has become anxious and believed that she had some sort of serious disease that turned out to be nothing. She is also experiencing moderate pain in her inner thighs and pelvis area. However, these symptoms did not start until after she brought up TSS and started to think she might have it. Just in case it s worth mentioning, she is 17 years old and the only medication she takes is some type of short acting medicine for adhd that is not an amphetamine. Unfortunately, I can t remember the name. Here s hoping that this isn t as serious as TSS and it s just psychosomatic or something less serious. Thanks for your help.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is not likely. It is more likely that the symptoms may be stress or anxiety related.

She may need to be seen regarding her anxiety. The use of medication and counselling would help her to relax.
She may not need medication for the long term but it would provide temporary help.

I hope this helps
