Mirena is a
progesterone contain
intrauterine device, long term
contraceptive and reversible in action.
It make the cervical mucus thick and make uterus unfavorable for implantation.
Following are the side effect:
1. Irregular menstruation/Bleeding in between period/spotting
2. Cramp pain
3. Dizziness and headache
4. Infection: most common gonorrhoea and chlymadia which lead to
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
It generally occur 1 to 2 months after insertion.
So I think It may be a infection.
If it is associated with fever, cramp and not resolved after 5-6 days you should
consult doctor.
Following are the advice for you-
For diagnosis you have to consult doctor and do testing for STDs:
1. Gram stain and culture
2. PCR and nucleic acid amplification test:swab should be taken from urethra
Following are the advice of Gonorrhea/Chlymadia:
3. Drugs: Cetriaxone 500 mg Intra mascular stat and Azithromycin 1 gram stat, because to treat gonorrhea and chlamydia.
It also overcome ceftriaxone resistance
4. If fever: Tablet Paracetamol 500 mg BD
5.Tablet cetrizine 5 mg BD orally
6. Maintain hygiene
7. Wash vagina 4-5 times in a day with warm salted watre
8. Wear pure cotton loose innerwear
