What Causes Papillary Thyroid Cancer?
hello! i am male, 34 years old. i had total thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid cancer about 4 months ago. left side of lobe positive. after a month of surgery i felt a painful lump in the left side of my neck. at present the lump is still there. do you have any idea what causes the lump? am afraid to consult a doctor for fear of what he may say.

The painful lump should be investigated without delay as it may represent relapse of thyroid carcinoma.
An ultrasound scan of neck and an ultrasound guided FNAC of lump will give exact diagnosis.
