What Causes Panic Attack And Insomnia With History Of Hypertension?

Hi I am a doctor very good physical health 55 yrs old have history of HTN no other health problems very fit run , lift weights daily! Recently after taking Sildenafil Citrate I experienced panic attack like feelings and insomnia feeling of impending doom? I have no SOB or chest pains or palpitations? As an anesthesiologist I have used Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor for pulmonary HTN and have good understanding of their pharmacodynamics. I not sure these are side effects from drug as I understand it I don t think it is what is your opinion?

Sildenafil is not known to cause such panic attacks. Although it cannot be neglected as a rare side-effect. However sildenafil produces erectile benefit and lead to a sexual act which a person may not be fit for. Hence it can lead to cardiac insufficiency. You should get an ECG done and an echocardiography done.
