Hi, I m a 20 year old male with no history of health problems. I do not smoke and I am not overweight, and I do not have high blood pressure. 6 months ago I began experiencing palpitations in my heart every now and then, especially before going to sleep. The amount of these decreased in the upcoming months but 1.5 months ago they increased again, and were a lot of the times accompanied by burping. For the last 2-3 weeks however I have been experiencing a dull pressure in my chest and especially on the heart area. Sometimes when I burp it momentarily relieves the pressure but it immediately comes back. Also my palpitations have become stronger and are accompanied by momentary dizziness. I went to the emergency room a week back and they ran an EKG test and a blood test and said that everything was fine, and that I had something called an extra heartbeat which they said was very normal. 2 days ago however, just before I was about to sleep I felt a pain in the centre of my chest which spread out the the rest of my chest. I was terrified that it was a heart attack and as I ran to wake my father up I nearly fainted and collapsed. It was also difficult to breathe, and I started sweating a lot and turned pale and my fingers started tingling and I was shaking all over. We called the paramedics that night and they came over and said that it was very improbable that I would have a heart condition and they blamed what had happened on some type of heartburn and anxiety/fear. Since then I have been having burning sensations in my esophagus which is relieved momentarily by heavy burping. But today the dull chest pressure, accompanied with slight pain in the heart area, came back. Also after a small exercise today I began to sweat a lot and become very very tired and dizzy, something which hadn t happened before. I also feel a discomfort in my left arm which is constant, even when the chest pressure decreases. Please help me understand what this is as I am terrified these are signs of a heart attack. Thank you very much.
