Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! My 82 year old mother has been complaining today of feeling clammy as well as having heart palpitations. She told me she doesn't feel "clear in the head". No dizziness or nausea. She suffers from low back pain & has a thyroid condition which is treated with medication. She just received a good bill of health via two medical exams & labs. She does have diabetes (no medication) but eats very inappropriately - lots of candy & sweets. Her short term memory is starting to fade. She wants to go to the ER; is that necessary? Thank You!
Hello, Yes, with diabetes and those symptoms she could be having a heart attack. Call an ambulance and send her to the emergency department now. Regards
