What Causes Palpitations And Shortness Of Breath?

Hi Doctor, I am experiences almost continuous palpatations ( like you have when you have an exam and you are worried) since last 4-5 days. alos, i feel shortness of breath and a feeling that ears are getting blocked. accompanied symptom : my tongue is dry, i get a feeling that i am about to develop blisters on my tounge i am 34 year old and dont have any heart condition or major ailment as yet. about 12 years ago i had a ratinal detachment operation and have been going for eye check up every six months.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Since you are having palpitations and shortness of breath, we need to rule out cardiac cause first.
Common cardiac cause s are
1. Arrhythmia
2. Hypotension
3. Heart failure.
So get done
1. ECG
2. 2D Echo.
3. Holter monitoring (continuous recording of ECG ) to rule out all these.
If all are normal than no need to worry much.
This may be due to anxiety only. So avoid stress and tension. Be relax and calm.
