What Causes Palpitations And Fluttering Sensation In The Chest?

Lately my heart seems to randomly beat faster sometimes...several times a day. It doesn t hurt, it s almost a feeling you get when someone scares you and you have that flutter in your chest from the scare. But it just happens when I m doing normal every day stuff. What does this mean?

This could be paroxysmal supra ventricular tachycardia (periodic increase in heart rate).

This requires ECG (recording of electric heart activity) for diagnosis of its type. This should be done during the attack.
If the attack is very short in time, a mobile 24 hour ECG recoding is done.

There are many classes and causes of paroxysmal arrhythmia. Each has its specific treatment plan. This is best discussed with your cardiologist after proper tests.
