Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
60 ear old male; 5-10, 200 lbs. My last physical was 2 weeks ago and blood results normal. One stent placed in the left coronary artery approximately 5 years ago. I exercise regularly. Recently I have been having palpitations after exercising. These last for several hours. I have increased slightly my exercise regimen and am wondering if the increase is the cause of the fluttering. The increase in regimen is with weights.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Increased heart rate leads to pounding heart beats. This is interpreted as palpitations. 2. Its normal and not to worry about. 3. During anxiety, palpitation can be seen. Relaxation and meditation can be helpful. However, if excessive, get an ECG to rule out any arrhythmia. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
