What Causes Palate Numbness With Thick Saliva?

Well the roof of my mouth feels very weird . Kinda hard to describe ! But I will try... for about 4 or 5 days now the roof of my mouth feels very waxy or numb. And my spit is really thick . I haven't had any dental procedures or anything that would make me numb or put me to sleep. I just know that this is very very annoying and aggrivateing ! I have tryed everything I know to do. Sorry if there is any mis-spelling! What is wrong with me?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain palatal numbness or a waxy feeling over the roof of the mouth along with thick saliva can be due to reduced serous or watery flow of saliva leading towards a condition known as Dry mouth..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can chew sugar free chewing gum and suck on tart candies to stimulate saliva flow..
Drink plenty of water..
Do warm saline gargles..
Gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water..

Hope this informations helps..

Thanks and regards.
