What Causes Painless Lump Above The Scapula?

My 27 yr old daughter has a painless lump, about 2 cm over her right scapula that she says she s had for a while, and it has recently increased in size. It feels harder than a lipoma my husband had a few years ago. She went to a clinic in Vancouver and an MRI was scheduled, but she says things move a lot slower there. I realize you cannot diagnose with this information, but I would appreciate your thoughts

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about your unnerving situation, from listening to your description, I would still bet that this is a lipoma. Lipoma's will present with different textures to different people and the place they are located will dictate their feel. The location also is of less concern than lets say if the lump was on her chest area. I hope pthis helps and I pray that the MRI puts all your fears to rest. Good luck.
