What Causes Painful White Spots In The Throat?

The roof of my mouth near my throat hurts and is very red, with some white spots. I also have a lump in my outer ear that is painful and red. I can t tell if there is pain coming from my jaw on that side as well, or if it is all from my ear. I don t know what could be causing all of these symptoms.

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain white pustules at the back of throat along with redness and pain on the roof of the mouth is indicating towards bacterial infection..
White pustules are pus pockets that further confirms towards bacterial infection..

Lump in the outer ear can be either an abscess or hair follicle infection..

Pain in ears can be a radiating pain from infected throat, rather it can also be due to the lump..

For confirmation consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT expert and get evaluated..
He can do investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain. -----Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
