I may or may not have a UTI, my doctor says it may just be irritation of the urethra. The pain went away and I was going pee normally for a day and now the pain came back but worse and I noticed blood in my urine, it s not my period because i had it last week. Should I go to the ER or wait to see doctor. I m feeling very uncomfortable.
Your symptoms may suggests urinary tract infection(UTI).UTI may be due to many reasons.Females are more prone to UTI due to short urerthra. Blood in urine may be related to UTI.
You need proper clinical examination and routine investigations. Investigations include routine hemogram, random blood sugar, renal function test, ultrasound of abdomen, urine RE/ME and culture/sensitivity. Nitrite and leukocyte esterase test can be done for confirmation of UTI.
You may need to take full course of antibiotics. You should drink plenty of water.
