What Causes Painful Swollen Eyelid?

Hello, I am a 14 year old girl and after taking a shower last night, when I got out I noticed my eyelid is completely swollen and has the feel of a black eye. I did not hurt myself within my 10 minute shower and I have no idea why I have this. The swelling hasn't gone down and it is still very painful. I thought it might be an ingrown eyelash because when I was a very young age, I had a stress disorder causing me to pluck them and now I have about 20 lashes on each eye. My lashes haven't been growing for about a year now so I I don't assume it's an ingrown hair. Thanks.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having painful swelling of the eyelid.
This is because of inflammation of the eyelid glands. The common lesions are hordeolum externum or internum.
The treatment is by antiinflammatory drugs and antibiotic eye drops.
Hot compression provides symptomatic relief.
This problem is not because of ingrown eye lashes this will cause only irritation and this will not cause swollen eyelid.

Thank you
