Last Monday (10 days ago) I had a sudden swelling in my neck (left hand side), just below my ear on the jaw line and it was big enough to cup in the palm of my hand. The swelling has gone down but it is still visible under my ear/start of jaw line. Alongside this I have noticed that my tonsil, on the same side as the swelling, has swollen also. It has one white spot on it and looks much larger than my right tonsil. I feel like I have a constant lump in my throat and the need to swallow every 10 seconds or so. I have also had sharp pains coming up and into my left ear, occasionally hearing a ringing sound for a few minutes at a time. I have no fever, feel physically well and although my throat feels like it has something blocking it, this only causes slight discomfort rather than the pain I would associate with tonsillitis which I have previously had. I have scared myself by looking online at these symptoms and seeing that rather than an easily solvable infection it could in fact be tonsil cancer. I cannot get an appointment to see my regular doctor and as this is ongoing, and beginning to worry me, I thought I would seek advice here.
