What Causes Painful Shingle Rashes Despite Using Tramadol?
I have been diagnosed with shingles, This was Friday. I may be seeing a few spots breaking out. I have medication but my concern is the shooting pain. They are so severe 2 tramadol doesn t touch them. How long does this pain last and am I contagious?

Hi.
As per your case history of shingles, my advice is -
1. As it is contagious, maintain isolation especially from children.
2. Drink plenty of water and don't apply soap on affected part.
3. Pain in shingles depends on age. It is long lasting and more troublesome in elderly people.
4. Continue treatment as given by your physician. You can add a aceclofenac tablet for better pain control.
