What Causes Painful Nodule On Neck With Fever?

My 15 y/o son has painful and quite inflammed right-side neck with small movable nodule near the clavicle. His fever right now is 38.8 degrees centigrade. What could be the problem? He has been complaining about the pain for 2 days now . Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The reason for the pain full lymph node with fever near the clavicle may be some infection in the throat, teeth, neck, or any part around the gland.
What ever the reason, the treatment almost remains the same,so it is to be treated in general grounds.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment .
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, diclofenac , and paracetamol.
I also advise to avoid ice cream, cool drinks, fruits, and juices.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
