What Causes Painful Lumps On Vaginal Lips?

During my last pap smear exam which was recently my docotr noticed some bumps on the lips of my vagina. She said it could be fatty something but because they where so many was going to look further. At times they can flare up and be very painful. What can this be?

I really appreciate your concern, here the chances of Bartholin's cyst need to be ruled out, second this could be formation of abscess, in either case clinical examination is must, for proper treatment, hope this information helps, take care.
