What Causes Painful Heartburn?

i have painful heartburn every day. i only use olive oil as a fat in my diet. i try to be moderate in my portions.
i almost always only eat fruits, vegies and natural whole grains and healthy oils. i've persisted in this program for the last six years. i deviate from these choices rarely. why is this heartburn continuing?

Hi, I went through your query. Heartburn is not entirely dependant on your diet. It occurs because of excessive acid production or some anatomical or physiological problem in the esophagus resulting acid reflux. Excessive acid production could be due Helicobacter pylori infection or Zollinger Ellison syndrome. Or it could be a simple peptic ulcer. I would advise you to take pantoprazole for symptom relief and undergo an endoscopy if symptoms get too severe. Stick to your healthy diet as otherwise your symptoms will be aggravated whatever be the cause. Hope this helps.
