What Causes Painful Erections?

Hi, I had contracted Gonorrhea and started noticing symptoms about a week after having sex. I got tested and within 4 days was treated with a shot and 2 antibiotic pills. It’s been 3 days now and symptoms are definitely reducing. The only problem I have is that erections feel painful. I haven’t ejaculated for about a week since the symptoms started, cause I’m afraid it’s going to be painful to release. Is this common?

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. An erection can become painful if the penis remains erect for long without becoming flaccid (priaprism) or if the blood supply is not adequate (ischemia).

Your condition requires medical intervention and you need to see a doctor. Second, painful erections can be caused by phimosis and preputial adhesions so if there is anything strange about his penis or testicles such as color or morphology you need to seek for help. The treatment of priapismis to remove blood from the corporeal bodies. Sometimes medication in the form of an injection can be used to achieve this.
Stay Healthy. Hope this helps and provides answers to your question. I wish you good health
