What Causes Painful Bruises On The Soles Of The Feet?

Hi I have purple patches that go from a nickel to a quarter in size on the bottom of my feet. They sometimes move overnight and even appear on the other foot. Their numbers vary from one to four depending on the day. They hurt to walk on. Especially in the morning and after taking my work boot off and releasing the pressure. They tend to be around the balls of my feet usually but not always. Thanks for your help

Hi.
As per your case history you are having planter hidradenitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid eating cold and sweet foods as sometimes throat infection can lead to such skin lesions.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
