What Causes Pain While Swallowing?

Hi, curious as I have had tonsillitis before and needed antibiotics. This time for the past week I have had pain when swallowing only in the night and morning, until today. I have almost completely lost my voice and it is painful and uncomfortable to swallow. I have a slight cough and a bit of a blocked nose. I feel ok, just wondering if it could be something that needed medication to fix or I can wait it out. Thank you for your help.
