What Causes Pain The Ribs?

I am a 52yo female, non smoker. I am on .25mg estroge (patch) and 100 mg progesterone daily. I am experiencing a sharp pain under the left ribs. It occurs between 4 and 5 am and stays with me until about noon every day. Aim currently ring treated for acid reflux. Activity seems to give some relief.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Respected madam, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
*Certain vital informations missing here
- was there pain before estrogen & progesterone therapy starting ?
- sleep pattern
- need medications for sharp pain if any ?
- any other symptoms associated like breathlessness / perspiration /
palpitations along with it ?
*Till you revert with details I can say this pain to be Costochondral in origin.
Thanks for using Health care magic & reviewing my answer.
Regards dear take care.
