I have a question regarding pain. A little over a week ago I noticed that there was a pain in my left pointing finger, along with a very slight swelling. The pain has neither increased nor decreased and neither has the swelling. The pain is only present when I move it, but if I don t move it for a period of time, it becomes stiff, and there is more pain when I do move it. The stiffness seems to partially include my middle finger and thumb, but the pain is primarily in my pointing finger. There was no discoloration nor abnormal appearance besides the very slight swelling. When I do press on my hand, though, I can feel pain as far as my wrist, but only alongside where my pointing finger and thumb bone meets the wrist. Beyond that, there is no pain. I also work full-time as a barista, so I m using my hands at a constant, faced-paced rate. The only reason I m concerned is because this has been going on for over a week, and the amount of pain has not decreased. I m wondering if I should be patient or see a doctor about this issue.
