What Causes Pain On Both Sides Of The Back And Having UTI?

I have been feeling terrible since Christmas.all my joints ache,low grade fever.i have had 5 back surgeries. I also have an Medtronic implanted morphine pump for the last 8 yrs. The pain from my surgeries is manageable. What I cannot manage is the all over pain I have intense pains on both sides of my back .I think its my kidneys...I aalso had a blood test a few months ago and my sed rate was 87....yesterday when the doctor saw that she seemed concernd .she also found I had a uti, which she prescribed Bactrim....

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The pain in the mid-, lower-back region is due to the UTI having affected the kidneys as well, probably causing a kidney infection as well resulting in pain in the flank region of the back. If Bactrim does not help, a more strong antibiotic may have to be used.
