What Causes Pain In Upper Abdomen And Sticky Stools?
Hello! I had Hep A as a child back in the early 60 s, drank a lot of alcohol over the years(no drinker now), lost my Gall Bladder 19 yrs ago. Now I m having slight pain in upper right abs near lower right Rib Cage. My stools seems, sticky looking. Seem a bit fatigued more more then normal. What does this mean if anything?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of Hepatitis in childhood in early 60s, drank a lot of alcohol over the years but stopped now, gall bladder removed 19 years back. Now have slight pain in right upper abdomen near right rib cage, stools seem sticky, bit fatigues, wants to know what does this mean... From the history the present problem looks to be entero-colitis and should be investigated and treated accordingly. I would advise you teh following: Tests of stool, blood, colonoscopy, ultrasonography of the abdomen and CT scan is more is suspected of the things that ultrasound can miss. Antibiotics course along with Metronidazole should be treated. Fatigue may be due to intestine loosing large quantity of electrolyte as third space loss- that is not in utilized in the body, by the body. If the surgical cause is found then only a Surgery may be of help.
