What Causes Pain In The Upper Thigh While Walking?

I m experiencing pain in the area at the top of my thigh, but not my hip. It hurts to walk, it hurts when I put pressure on the area, it hurts to sit for too long. It almost feels like a really deep bruise, but I haven t been injured. I tried a heating pad and Motrin last night, but couldn t sleep because of the pain. I can walk, but it is painful to do so.

i read ur problem and suspect that might be there any nerve compression over L1 L2 or due to hip arthritis, anterior thigh pain with standing or walking is normaly caused by meralgia paresthetica, means femoral cutaneous nerve could be compressed at the inguinal ligament. or the pain on front thigh may be due to hip fracture, tendinitis and bursitis or Hernia in the groin area, femoral and inguinal hernias and due to some gynecological and back issues like Endometriosis or sciatica pain.
