What Causes Pain In The Throat With Difficulty In Swallowing Post Endoscopy Procedure?

Hi I had an endoscopy done Thursday morning. The Dr. Was very rough with the scope, I was gagging and vomiting during the procedure. After I immediately complaining of pain on the right side of my throat. Once the sedatives had compleatly worn off I was in terrible pain. It felt like he had ripped part of my throat out. I called the Dr multiple times and they told me it was normal. I feel like there is a lump on that side of my throat and I can t eat solid food. It hurts to drink or swallow. The pain has now traveled into my jaw and ear. No fever. I m very concerned and irritated. Gargeling, chloraseptic spray, tea,and Tylenol do absolutly nothing. What do you think happened? And what should I do next?

Hi

It is very normal to have throat discomfort after endoscopy procedure

These signs and symptoms will improve with time. As the tissues are worn out during the procedure, it takes time for those scraped cells/tissues to heal

you can consume soft diet like curd rice, milk rice etc

Banana or any soft juice can be consumed and gastric anesthetic like
Mucaine gel can be consumed with your doctor advice to give soothing effect to your oesophagus or stomach ulcers that would have formed in case any during the procedure

Wish You Good Health
