What Causes Pain In The Stomach And Lungs With A History Of Gerd?

Hi, I m an active mother of 3 little ones, and have had this ongoing dull ache at night when lying down that starts about 15-20 minutes. The pain has been going on for years, I do suffer from GERD and I thought the pain was located in my stomach (more towards left side) but I ve had several upper Gi s over the years and occasionally take something when it flares up. I ve never stopped to think that it may be a lung issue. I ve never had my colon or lungs checked for anything. There was mention of having my Gallbladder looked at with a HIDA scan but haven t done that. The pain feels more intense on left side stomach or lung and thru to my back. it is an ache not sharp pain, and it only goes away when I turn on my side or fetal position. Is there something I might be missing?

Dear I read your query and reviewed it with context to your query facts.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Pregnancy Accompanied with Flare up of GERD.
The pain in the stomach and chest is due to the reflux of the Acid from Stomach,as the LES(lower Esophageal Sphincter)is breached by raised intra-abdominal pressure.
In the absence of specific history about the twin/or single pregnancy,its really difficult to comment on your query.
HIDA scan if not done doesn't affect much in suggesting and commenting on your case,though it would help a little in planning treatment of your GERD acid reflux.
Remedy-Missing-
GERD with Gastritis and Acid reflux -causes Stomach and Chest pain from Esophagitis from acid contact.
With the history submitted many missing links in the story / query of yours are there.
-Controlled diet/ a 45 degrees upright position,Early meals,
-Low on solid inputs and high on liquid diet would reduce your Stomach pains from
-Tab Veloz -1 x 2 times a day
-Tab Maxeran-1 x 2 times a day
-Gaviscon Liquid 2 tsf after meals x 2 times if need be-after major meals / feeds.
-Tab Folic acid -50 mgm / day
-Tab Vit B12 2500 mcgm / week
