Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been battling pain inside my rectum for some time now. My family doctor tells me it is a fungal infection on the inside. But the meds he prescribed are not helping. It is very painful when I sit for prolonged periods of time, especially when I m driving.
There are many causes of pain in rectum like anal fissure, proctalgia fugax, levator Ani syndrome, malignancy, Inflammatory bowel disease. Most of them can be diagnosed with clinical history and rectal examination either by proctoscopy or sigmoidoscopy. So I will suggest you to visit a Gastroenterologist for examination and management.
I hope I have answered your query and this will help you . Let me know if I can assist you further. Wish you a good health.
Regards, Dr. Amit Jain
