What Causes Pain In The Neck Area?

I get terrible pains in my neck areas and along my carotids. I had an upper GI last april 29th and it was normal. I have a hard time burping too. Anything that goes into my stomach usually turns to gas! I have reflux and take Zantac, but I don't get heartburn much.
