What Causes Pain In The Ears?

My daughter has a tube in her ear, and when i checked it with my otoscope, after she had been complaining of pain, i noticed a large black area starting at the top of the tube in an upside down U shape. What could it be? I will be contacting her ENT doctor, but hoping i could find out sooner.

this can be abrasion inside the ear canal which was caused by the tube lodgement. early intervention by an ENT surgeon is required.
