Hi Julie, There are other causes of pain and it doesn t sound crazy. It depends on when your pain occurs and what makes it worse. Pain on inside of the ankle related to the vein makes me think of varicose veins, which sometimes aren t totally obvious. The usual treatment is compression stockings, which can sometimes help with the pain. You can get these from any pharmacy over the counter. You ll usually notice pain when you re sitting for long periods of time. An ultrasound can help test for this. Another possibility is arthritis; if you ve had any history of injury at the joint, or just normal wear and tear, this usually occurs when you walk or use the affected limb. Ibuprofen and ice can usually help in this case I d see your primary care physician and ask him what he thought of either of these causing your symptoms.
